Originally from Aberdeen, Gemma relocated to Rugby in 2016 with her husband and daughter. She is a qualified Social worker who has gained several years of experience specialising in working with children, young people and adults affected by disability. Gemma has also been involved in undertaking joint police child protection interviews following a Post graduate certificate in Child protection.
When her son was born locally in 2018, she reconsidered her work/life balance due to his diagnosis of Mild Haemophilia. From this, she started a branch franchise of theatrical baby sensory classes.
Gemma is keen to offer the CCG a non-medical perspective to the decision making process and use her experience of advocating for others to support the local community.
