A clinically approved vacinnation

The vaccine has been developed and approved following a number of clinical trials involving thousands of people across the world.

Vaccine eligibility

The vaccine is currently being offered to those aged 65 and over, and frontline health and social care staff.

The vaccine is offered in order of priority. You will be invited to attend for a vaccination, therefore please do not attempt to book a vaccination appointment or attend a vaccination centre, unless you have been asked to do so.

People in Warwickshire North may receive an invitation from their local GP or a vaccination centre depending on which GP practice they are registered at.

We understand a lot of people want to be vaccinated and would like to reassure you this will happen. Please be patient and wait to be contacted. For further information on why you are being asked to wait for your Covid-19 vaccine, please read the information on the GOV.UK website or this leaflet.

How the vaccine is given

The vaccine is given by injection into the arm or shoulder. You will be asked which arm you wish to have it in – we recommend if you are right-handed to have it in your left arm and vice versa. You will need two doses of the vaccine to gain the maximum protection. These doses will be given 12 weeks apart therefore you will need to attend two appointments to receive both doses. If you do not have both doses the vaccine will not be fully effective.
